Sustainability policy
UTE MARPOLGAL, engaged in the provision of a port reception service for solid and liquid waste generated by ships in the Port of Vigo and the Ría of Vigo, undertakes its activities by applying a Quality, Prevention and Environmental policy, encouraging the participation of staff from the company, and contributing to the improvement of the Integrated Management System, so as to obtain, for all its products and services, the quality and reliability that is demanded to get full customer satisfaction, through proper environmental behaviour and control of labour risks in all its activities.

To attain this, UTE MARPOLGAL has implemented an Integrated Management System, in accordance with UNE-EN-ISO 9001 and UNE-EN-IS- 14001 standards and by identifying danger and risk situations. Thus, UTE MARPOLGAL assumes the following commitments:
  • TO COMPLY WITH CURRENT LEGISLATION, as well as other requirements our company may sign up to.

  • TO OFFER A QUALITY SERVICE AND ENSURE that the services provided to our customers are proper, safe, reliable and according to the requirements specified or applicable in maintaining quality control levels that meet expectations and collaborating with them in order to improve them.

  • TO PREVENT POLLUTION, damage and deterioration of workers’ health and deviations in activities.

  • CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT to attain a high level of quality, environmental behaviour and safety and health of workers, by setting up specific and quantifiable targets when possible, as well as carrying out internal audits to assess their adaptation and efficiency.

  • TO COOPERATE WITH THE GOVERNMENT, COMPETENT PUBLIC AUTHORITIES AND OTHER BUSINESS ASSOCIATIONS in searching for solutions to environmental problems in our society.

  • ENCOURAGE ACTIVE PARTICIPATION OF ALL STAFF, through information, training and awareness, in achieving the set targets for continuous improvement.

  • PLANNING AND GIVING PROPER TRAINING by providing the necessary resources that will allow for the compliance and development of this Quality, Prevention and Environmental Policy.

  • PROVIDE THE NECESSARY RESOURCES AND DISSEMINATE THIS POLICY to involve the collaborating companies in the understanding and acceptance of this policy, so as to achieve a high level of quality in this continuous improvement process.

UTE’s management has the final say on Quality, Environment and Prevention; it defines the policy and targets of the Integrated System, reviewing it periodically.

This policy will be disseminated at all levels in the company and will be made available to the public as well as any other interested parties who request it.
